What are Scars?
A scar is the result of deviation in the normal wound healing process.
When the body is injured a wound healing response is initiated to heal and rebuild the damaged area, a complex healing process begins.
Type 1 Collagen is quickly formed to rapidly rebuild the damaged skin structure, over time is healthy healing this Type 1 Collagen would later be replaced with Type 3 Collagen, this process can take around two years. However, when this process works poorly a scar is formed.
Scar Texture like Ice Pick scars and uneven skin texture is the result of tight bands of Sinew. These bands of fibrous tissue contract the skin surface pulling it down, this can make scars feel tight and uncomfortable.
How many treatments will I need?
This will be discussed at consultation as really it depends on the type and severity of the scar. A minimum of 6 weeks is required between each treatment.
A course will be required with improvement each time, you ultimately stop when satisfied with the results. No ongoing maintenance is required following the course.

Acne, burns, stretch marks, chicken pox, injury / surgical scars, self-harm scars and more. For optimum results fresher wounds are ideal but decades old white scars can get outstanding results. I use a specialist treatment line and method for scarring and stretch marks that delivers, due to the fibrous nature of scar tissue it is often painless. Price will vary based on the scar from single pockmarks to extensive burns or stretch marks.

Do I offer Keloid treatment
No, Keloid scars are excessive scar formations where the body creates too much Collagen at the site of an injury. These scars will appear larger than the original wound site size and may have a raised texture. As the body reacts excessively to wounds these are best treated medically including the use of steroid injections to flatten the scar or surgery. Care must be taken to prevent further scar formation during treatment.

This depends on the issue and severity, a treatment will be required with improvement each session, I can treat extensive burns and scarring with older white scars requiring additional treatment.
I prefer to treat from age 18 unless medical approval is provided. I recognise the emotional distress that may be caused when dealing with scars and the history behind them.
